What are the Community Labs of the Food4Health project?

The strategic project Food4Health – financed by the cross-border cooperation program Interreg Italy Albania Montenegro 2014-2020 – has the macro objective of strengthening the competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized SMEs in the cross-border area through the improvement of production techniques and the transfer, sharing and adoption of European quality standards for the transformation and enhancement of typical and traditional products of the agri-food and fishing sector in order to facilitate access to markets.

The idea of creating the Food4Health community laboratories was born within the project “Sustainability and innovation of the agri-food and fishing chains to facilitate access to the cross-border market for SMEs – Food4Health”. The “Community Lab” community workshops, carried out in the target areas of the project, will represent shared places appropriately equipped and made available to the communities and the territory.

The Food4Health community laboratory represents an innovative model as an “incubator center” in which incubation services for emerging companies and redevelopment of production chains in depressed areas are implemented (innovative approach) in order to improve the quality of production and make the innovation appreciated both in the local market and in the cross-border one.

Through what method will the Community Labs help the local community and in particular Small and Medium Enterprises? We will find out in the next post.
